Neither.
I don't like the FD body style, and the "Kouki" is just kinda played out at this point.
I've had two Nissan S chassis and was not exactly impressed by the car.
My choice of any "driftmachine" would have to be the Corolla AE86, its a bullet proof drivetrain, the 4AGE is a very workable motor even N/A, and its smaller and more nimble than the FD and S14o whatever the Nissan is.

If I owned a Kouki, I would paint it blue and call it the Kouki monster..heh heh...get it?

I'd take both.
But I'd swap the Nissan motor into the Mazda and then drop and LS into the Nissan just to cheese off the entire internet.

I'd pick the FD. I will say, Kouki is not a term specific to that car, unlike how FD refers to the chassis code of the RX-7. Kouki simply means late period fascia, like how I have kouki lights on my MR2, since they were the last style to be used on that generation.

I'unno, the AE86 felt waaaaay outdated even before a year has passed since its release. I mean, sure, there are better mods but at the end of the day, it felt like a bastardized Japanese Mustang with 4 cylinders lopped off. Miata, anyone?

Awww, terminology from my 240 days.
Zenki = Early
Chuki = Middle
Kouki = Last

I don't like seeign the Miata as a Drift car.
Yeah it can be good at it, but its more of a track car or a daily driver.
sure the 86 was out dated, its a simple car though, nothign special, no frills, but done right the car is perfect for winding roads. Sliding corner to corner.
High compression, high revving 1.8 liter 4cylinder, screaming down a mountain road, that is somrthing I love.
The wankel is a beautiful engine.
The Nissan KA and SR engines are good too.
But the Toyota seems the most able in my mind, especially since I know the A series blocks pretty well.

"Kouki" is literally "after change" - like how a BMW model after its mid-cycle refresh is called the LCI version. I wanted LCI to stand for something German with 18 syllables (along the lines of Porsche's PDK transmission being short for Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe) but googling it tells me it actually means Lifecycle Impulse.

if it was a zenki, i'd take the S14. but in this case, i'll take the RX-7.

I'd have to go with the FD but then again, I am biased.

Seeing the results for the poll so far it's apparent that anyone who would vote Silvia over FD is a pinko commie bastard... and has been helping the terrorists win... and is a member of

I'd take the Nissan, but I enduro raced an S14 for a couple of years, so I'm a little biased.

It was a great car. Sadly, one of my teammates wrote it off at VIR. This was it in its prime.
